Kris, from the Gender Shoot. I just loved this portrait of her, because it brings out a beautiful vulnerability and sweetness that I don’t usually picture when thinking of this particularly strong friend of mine. <3 her, and her whole shoot. She really made the project. March 2010.
Fiona, 5 year old piece of heaven, my little bean. I’ll put up regular pictures of her and the other children sporadically, but this to start with. Part of a piece about identity, in which I created portraits from slices of other photos taken of the subject, intermixed with which are two slices of white, one labelled with the nickname given to them by our full cross-cultural family. There is intent in this. And she is wonderful and beautiful. Fall 2009.
